Cop responding to call hurt in NJ crash

LONG BRANCH, N.J. Ki Jung Kim was driving with lights and sirens on when the other vehicle pulled out in front of him just after noon on Saturday, police spokesman Lt. Michael McGlennon said.

The 35-year-old Kim, who sustained knee and shoulder injuries, and a person in the other vehicle were taken to nearby Monmouth Medical Center. But their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation, McGlennon said, and further details were not disclosed.
