Grand jury indicts suspect in NJ cop shootings

Toms River, NJ Jaime Gonzalez, who remains jailed in lieu of $2 million bail, was charged with 11 counts each of attempted murder and aggravated assault, which are related to the 11 officers involved in the raid last September, the culmination of a multi-jurisdictional investigation into gun and drug trafficking.

Gonzalez also faces an additional aggravated assault charge relating to the officers as a group.

The indictment handed up Friday by an Ocean County grand jury also accuses him of six drug-related charges, four weapons charges and one count of fortifying his home for illegal drug activity.
