Hearing planned in CT home invasion case

NEW HAVEN, Conn. New Haven Superior Court Judge Jon Blue said last week he hopes to resume picking jurors on March 15 in the case of Steven Hayes, one of two men charged with killing a woman and her two daughters in 2007. A status conference will be held Tuesday.

The judge held a hearing last week after Hayes' lawyer raised concerns about his client's eating and sleeping conditions.

Jury selection has been delayed since Hayes was found unconscious in his cell. Officials say he overdosed on medication he hoarded in a suicide attempt on Jan. 30. He was hospitalized and returned to his cell two days later.
