29 arrested in drug sweep near Lincoln Center

NEW YORK New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan and Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Tuesday that the sweep had targeted a drug-plagued housing project.

The neighborhood also is home to five schools, including Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts.

Authorities say the cocaine and heroin ring used high school students as lookouts and trained them to be dealers. The students lived in the complex but did not attend LaGuardia.

The investigation was launched after residents complained about dealing in lobbies and stairwells.
