NYC man stabbed after coming to aid of teenager

NEW YORK Police say 26-year-old Orlando Salgado was near Fordham University when he was fatally stabbed at about 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Witnesses said Salgado was helping a 16-year-old who had been involved in a clash between two groups. They said Salgado told the teen, "I'll hang with you."

According to the witnesses, some of the people involved in the earlier argument came back to the block looking for the terrified teen, and they stabbed both him and Salgado.

The teen wasn't hurt, but Salgado was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital.

No arrests have been made.
