Rescuers on eastern Long Island are asking for help feeding dozens of farm animals. Officials went to the farm in Aquebogue over the weekend after getting complaints about malnourished animals.

Some of the animals were already dead. Those still alive included cattle with their ribs showing.

Roy Gross of the Suffolk County SPCA says sheep, pigs, goats, horses, chickens and ducks also were rescued.

There were no immediate charges. The property owner was not there. The SPCA asked that people who want to make donations call 631-382-7722.
