Man pleads not guilty in NJ weapons case

SOMERVILLE, N.J. Lloyd Woodson, whose last known address was in Reston, Va., entered his plea Friday. The 44-year-old faces numerous charges - including attempted robbery and multiple weapons offenses - in connection with a Jan. 25 incident in Somerset County.

Branchburg police found the weapons after responding to a suspicious person call at a convenience store. Woodson fled when police confronted him, but was soon captured.

At the time, he was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a loaded semiautomatic rifle, county Prosecutor Wayne Forrest said.

The subsequent hotel room search found more weapons, a police scanner and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Woodson's lawyer, James Wronko, will seek a psychiatric evaluation for his client.
