Top leaders gather for Sharpton's NY convention

NEW YORK The National Action Network's convention begins Wednesday in New York City and runs through Saturday.

Prominent leaders in civil rights, religion, politics and education will discuss issues affecting communities of color. They include health care, the black achievement gap, and the state of the black church.

Notable participants include the secretaries of education, health and human services, and housing and urban development.

Also featured are Republican national Chairman Michael Steele and the presidents of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the National Urban League.
