NYC pedestrian hit, pinned under livery cab

A pedestrian survived being run over by a livery car in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn this morning. The man was struck at the intersection of Flushing and Washington avenues just before 2 a.m.

Authorities say he was trapped under the car for more than 20 minutes as firefighters carefully rescued him.

He was rushed to Bellevue Medical Center. His injuries were not believed to be life threatening, officials say.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
