NJ man accused of killing 5 had parole violation

JERSEY CITY Authorities say Shiquan Bellamy took part in his first double slaying on Feb. 2, six days after the warrant was issued because Bellamy had failed to report to a community resource center.

The State Parole Board's fugitive unit couldn't find the 19-year-old even though police say Bellamy was selling drugs in the Jersey City neighborhood where he had lived for years.

Parole board spokesman Neal Buccino says the agency is searching for 639 people, or about 4 percent of the board's total caseload of 16,047.

Bellamy was arrested after authorities said he and two women gunned down a young couple as they returned from their engagement party on Easter.

Bellamy has pleaded not guilty to the slayings and remains held on $6 million bail.
