The second night of the University of Connecticut's annual Spring Weekend celebration brings 39 arrests. State police reported five arrests on Friday, while UConn police said they made 34 arrests between Friday night and 4 a.m. Saturday.

The arrests were on a variety of charges, including drug possession, weapons violations and interfering with a police officer.

The annual weekend of partying comes just before final exams.

Police said 32 of the 39 people arrested on the second night of the Spring Weekend weren't affiliated with UConn.

On Thursday, a UConn student was hospitalized after being punched during a fight. The student, Jafar (Jah-FAHR') Karzoun (Car-ZOON'), was listed in critical condition at Hartford Hospital at midday Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old Edi Rapo of East Hartford faces charges related to the fight, including second-degree assault.
