Movie shoot turns into mayhem at convenience store

An independent movie shoot briefly sparked a scare in Bellmore when the crew filmed a robbery scene that was a bit too realistic. Nassau County Police responded to a convenience store on Merrick Road after a 911 call in which a robbery was reported. The caller witnessed a gunman forcing several people to the floor and robbing them.

When police responded, they quickly realized it was not a robbery. It was actually a small, independent film crew shooting a movie. The film crew was shooting a simulated robbery of the store.

No charges are expected to be filed.
