Suffolk County police arrested a Huntington man after he allegedly stabbed another man during a large disturbance outside of Pancho Villa's restaurant early Thursday. Authorities say 21-year-old Ryan DiPaolo became involved in a verbal altercation with several people as he was leaving the restaurant, located at 311 New York Avenue in Huntington, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Police say the argument escalated and DiPaolo was stabbed by 26-year-old Wesley Erickson, who then fled the scene. Erickson was apprehended a short distance away. DiPaolo was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Police officers from several adjoining precincts responded to the incident, which at one point involved more than 100 people. Police also arrested 24-year-old Matia Branch after she allegedly punched a police officer.

Erickson was charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest. Police say he also has an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Pennsylvania for a parole violation. Branch was charged with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.
