Neighbors are outraged in a Queens apartment complex, after they say a pitbull attacked two dogs in an elevator, killing one. It was supposed to be a normal afternoon dog walk for Salvina Martinez's 4-year-old Chihuahua, Coco and his buddy Dudley.

But when the elevator doors opened at the May Fair apartments in Forest Hills, Salvina says a pitbull mix dog sprinted towards the pair grabbing Coco by the neck and killing him.

"He was a 5 pound Chihuahua, It didn't take much," said Salvina.

Salvina's friend Stephanie was hurt in the attack as she tried to pry the pitbull mix off the small dogs.

Stephanie has two broken fingers and cuts.

Dudley survived the attack but has a ruptured ear drum and bites on his ears and neck.

Eyewitness News reached out to the woman who was watching the dog while its owners were out of town.

A neighbor says the pitbull is back with his owners after they returned from vacation Sunday.

Signs posted around the building assure neighbors the dog is no longer there.

Still they don't understand why police didn't take away this vicious dog from its owners.

"The pit bull was still in the building yesterday. They're hiding him. He's already tasted blood who knows what he'll do next," said one neighbor.
