Drums Along the Hudson: A Native American Festival

NEW YORK Hosted by Eyewitness News Weekend Anchor Sandra Bookman, the event will feature a pow wow, storytelling, native arts and crafts, international foods and more.

WHEN: Sunday, May 23rd, 2010 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
WHERE: At Inwood Hill Park - 218th Street & Indian Rd, 4 Blocks West of Broadway
COST: FREE - rain or shine!


The festival will feature the Thunderbird American Indian dancers, along with Taiko (Japanese), Brazilian, Flamenco and Korean dancers and drummers. This year the host drums will be Heyna Second Sons and the Silver Cloud.

Honorees include Louis Mofsie (Hopi/Winnebago), Melky Jean (The Carma Foundation/Haiti) and Tom Chapin (Grammy Award winner), and special guests include Jake Swamp, Tetiana Anderson and Captain Planet.
