Authorities arrested Chad Johnson and transferred him to Patchogue overnight. He is charged with second-degree murder, patronizing a prostitute, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.
The body was found in a wooded area near the north service road of the LIE. Detectives have preliminarily tied the find to the missing persons case from March.
Papain was last seen on March 24. She had drive to Bay Shore in her father's car. Authorities say she got out of the car around 5:30 p.m. while a male passenger waited. Papain did not return. She was never seen again.
Police say Johnson admitted to murdering Papain and burying her body near Express Drive North, west of Bellport Road.
Detectives determined Johnson hired Papain for sex and was the last person to have seen her before she disappeared.
