NY husband won't help wife's child-murder defense

WHITE PLAINS, New York Attorney Allan Focarile (foh-kuh-REHL'-ee) is representing murder suspect Stacey Pagli (PAG'-lee). He said in court Wednesday that he has been unable to interview her husband, John Pagli.

Westchester County prosecutor Tim Ward then said that John Pagli has made it clear he doesn't want to talk to the defense. Ward said that was understandable.

John Pagli found their daughter's body on Feb. 22 in their campus apartment. He is a maintenance supervisor at Manhattanville College in Purchase. Marissa Pagli was a freshman at the school.

Police documents quote Stacey Pagli as saying she killed their daughter because she was disrespectful.
