The scramble to sell medical marijuana

MONTCLAIR, N.J. The prospective sellers? Think more business school than Cheech and Chong.

Marianne Bays, a 57-year-old Montclair resident who has a doctorate in business organizations, is setting up a nonprofit group hoping it will be among the first to be licensed to sell.

So is Joseph Stevens, a former funeral director who works in medical imaging. He says it's hard to believe, but he's no stoner.

He just thinks medical marijuana will help people.

Regulations on pot will be tighter in New Jersey than in the 13 other states where it's allowed for medicinal purposes.
