The 19-year-old went missing on Wednesday, when he went to Long Beach with some friends and was pulled out to sea while swimming.
Authorities believe he drowned.
Theofan says Tiburcio's body was discovered about noon Saturday at Silver Point. That's on the western part of Atlantic Beach, about 25 miles southeast of New York City.
A 22-year-old swimmer from Queens Village was also reported missing off Jones Beach on Wednesday.
