Fatal crash after police chase on Long Island

A horrifying crash killed three people on Long Island overnight. Police in Nassau County were trying to pull over a speeding car, when it slammed into a Jeep.

The scene remained a mangled mess Monday morning after a police chase ended in the accident.

Police said they were chasing a Nissan Altima that was speeding on Pine Hollow Road, when the driver, 23-year-old Jose Israel Moldonado failed to manage a curve, crossed the lane and crashed into a Jeep Cherokee.

Moldonado, his passenger 17-year-old Jose Suazo and 38-year-old Peter Sherlock, the driver of the Jeep all died.

Suazo's father said his 17-year-old son was playing soccer on Sunday and that was the last time he saw him.

The family is from Honduras and says they are came to the United States to work never expecting to lose family members so suddenly.

Police are continuing their investigation.

Jose Moldonado was unlicensed to drive in New York State.
