3 hurt, 2 critically, after crash on Cross Bronx

NEW YORK

Police say the Land Rover crashed into two other vehicles in the westbound lanes at Third Avenue just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The force of the crash sent the SUV slamming into a guard rail, flipping it over.

Three women in the Land Rover were injured, two of them critically. The third victim was in stable condition. They were all being treated at Saint Barnabas Medical Center.

The SUV's other two occupants -- a man and a woman -- fled on foot following the crash.

The occupants of the two other vehicles were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
