Fire burns through 2 homes in Queens

A two-alarm fire in Queens injured 7 firefighters and 1 resident.

The flames broke out around 11:45 a.m. inside a garage on 85th Drive in Briarwood.

It quickly spread inside the attached home and then to a neighboring home as well.

100 firefighters and 12 trucks battled the fire.

7 firefighters suffered minor injuries.

1 resident was also hurt, but refused medical treatment.

The fire was brought under control shortly after 1 p.m.
