Police have arrested the captains of two boats that collided off Long Island, leading one to capsize and hurl five people into Amityville's Great South Bay.

Two people were injured, including the operator of one of the boats.

Suffolk County police says the injured boat operator hurt her jaw, ribs and clavicle. A passenger on her 17-foot Boston Whaler broke his ribs. Both were taken to a nearby hospital.

Police say the Boston Whaler collided with an 18-foot Larson Bow Rider about 12:15 a.m. Saturday. Five people aboard were thrown into the water.

Both boat captains were arrested on charges of boating while intoxicated.
