Woman chased by police with 5 kids in car

MIDDLETOWN, Conn.

Police say Lawanda Murdock tried to hit a New Haven officer with her car Saturday. She fled, driving through Durham and into Middletown while pursued by state police.

An officer tried to arrest her after finding her car parked in a driveway. Police say she fled again, injuring the officer.

Middletown officers arrested her when she drove off the road.

Police say the five children were treated for minor injuries and released to family members.

Murdock also was treated for minor injuries and is being held on $100,000 bail.

It was not known Sunday if she is represented by a lawyer.
