Using a cell phone behind the wheel is a dangerous habit for drivers, that the NYPD intends to break.

A 24 hour cell phone ticket blitz begins at midnight.

Any driver caught using hand-held cell phones to talk or text will face a fine of $130.

The NYPD says officers are focused on making roads safer not with raising money for the cash-strapped city.
