Reusable grocery bags that are supposedly good for the planet might not be so good for your health. A new study shows the bags can be petri dishes for germs and bacteria.

Researchers in California and Arizona tested shoppers' reusable bags as they came into grocery stores.

They found e-coli and other bacteria in many of them.

They also discovered most shoppers had never washed or bleached their bags.

They say if you're going to use eco-friendly bags, make sure you clean them.
