The New York City Department of Health is counting on some air power to help it control the mosquito population and the West Nile virus the insects may carry.

For the next three days, the city will have helicopters spraying larvicide over marshy areas of Staten Island, the Bronx and Queens.

The health department says the areas are too difficult to spray from ground level.
