It happened just after midnight in Brentwood.
The ambulance collided with another car.
One person was killed.
Three other people in the other vehicle were injured, along with the driver of the ambulance.
Police say the car had pulled to the right as the ambulance approached. But it then made a left turn, crossing directly in front of the ambulance.
Both vehicles have been impounded during the investigation.
