Four injured in Chelsea stabbing spree

NEW YORK

At around 5:53 p.m., an unidentified man walked into the Solstice Sunglass Boutique to buy a pair of glasses.

Police say he got into a dispute with one of the workers, pulled out his knife and slashed the manager of the store.

He then ran out of the store and down the block where he picked up a table from the outdoor seating of a restaurant called "The Diner" and threw it through their front doors.

He stabbed two people that happened to be standing in front of the diner at the time.

The man then ran into the outdoor plaza at the intersection of 14th Street and 9th Avenue, knocked over a DJ booth that was set up for a salsa event, and stabbed a fourth person.

The man was eventually subdued by cops on patrol and Good Samaritans and arrested by police.

Charges are pending.

Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured.

Four men, ages 26, 28, 28, 45 were all taken to Bellevue Hospital.
