NEW YORK

The fire broke out on the 17th floor of 5-30 Park Avenue just after 1:45 a.m., Tuesday.

A man and a woman had to walk down 17 flights of stairs after smoke filled their apartment.

The tenants say the fire broke out in their kitchen. When firefighters arrived, they were able to put out the flames pretty easily.

An investigation continues into the cause of the fire.
