The NYPD says the father, Fumitaka Kurita, was stabbed in the neck with a knife Monday night. His body was found in the dining room of the family's Manhattan apartment on West 87th Street and Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side just before 7:30 p.m.
Police said Tuesday that the suspect, 33-year-old Julian Kurita, was arrested on murder and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with a stab wound to the wrist. He was listed in stable condition.
