When police went to his home in East Northport, they found two other bodies inside.
At first, it looked like sad but simple suicide, just outside the Northport train station. Just after 1 a.m., police say a man put his head on the track and waited for a train to kill him.
Once MTA cops identified him as Scott Maxwell, they realized he lived just steps away, in a walk up apartment building on Laurel Road.
But when police entered the apartment, they discovered everyone was not okay, and they found two people dead inside. And while they won't confirm the victims names or ages there is speculation it is Maxwell's wife, and young son.
Maxwell, was said to be unemployed and had been looking for work, for months.
