2 arrested in shooting of 2-year-old on Coney Island

Two suspects are in custody in connection with the shooting of a 2-year-old girl on Coney Island Sunday night.

Police say the suspects were shooting at each other when Jayleen Jones was caught in the crossfire and struck in the leg by a stray bullet.

Authorities arrested 17-year-old Dortch Devin, who was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and menacing; and 24-year-old Vincent Carmona, who was was charged with assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of weapon, menacing and criminal tresspassing.

One of the weapons used in the shooting was recovered.

Jones remains at Lutheran Hospital. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
