Fire leaves 11 homeless in Irvington

IRVINGTON, NJ The fire started inside a home on Grove Street in Irvington around 5:00 p.m. Flames shot though the roof and smoke poured into the sky from the two-story home. Nine firefighters were injured trying to put it out. Four of them were taken to the hospital for treatment, but there was no word about their conditions. The others were treated at the scene. The cause of the fire remained under investigation. The Red Cross is providing shelter for the people left homeless by the fire.
