The thieves are getting away with electronic, jewelry, cash and even a car.
Two Franklin Lakes' next-door-neighbors became victims overnight Monday, and did not even discover they'd been burglarized until well into Tuesday.
During that same stretch of time, neighbor Melissa took a pre-dawn jog to fight insomnia, and later discovered that she too had been robbed.
Police believe the same person or people are responsible for those 2 break-ins and a 3rd on the same night.
Since May, several break-ins of cars and homes have been reported in Franklin Lakes and a few neighboring towns.
In one, a car was stolen.
Police say they are following leads they choose not to describe so as not to tip off the burglars.
They have made off with thousands of dollars worth of items.
The burglars have also stolen a level of comfort these families had in lowering their guard in their quiet neighborhood.
