Hundreds of people gathered in a New Jersey community Wednesday night to pay tribute to a man most of them never met.

There was a large vigil in Summit for a 47-year-old man who was beaten to death.

About 900 people marched from city hall to gather on Summit's village green, where there was an interfaith prayer service for Abelino Mazariego.

Police say the Salvadoran immigrant died from injuries he sustained after three teenagers beat him for no apparent reason.

The teens have been charged with murder.
