Full college scholarship for homeless NY teen

NEW YORK

A teen who finished out his high school years while living in a homeless shelter is getting a full scholarship to a four-year college.

Orayne Williams finished Bedford Academy in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn with an A average and a number of Advanced Placement classes on his record.

The teen did that while living in a shelter for young men.

He had gotten a two-year scholarship to a community college upstate. He was offered a place at Manhattanville College in Westchester County after the Daily News reported his story.
