Suffolk County police and the Coast Guard were busy pulling a boat and injured people off the east jetty overnight, where Brown's River empties into the Great South Bay.

Witnesses say the boat, carrying five people, slammed into the jetty at a high rate of speed around midnight.

Two people were hurt in the crash. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The boat began leaking fuel. It was towed to shore.
