UConn officials said Thursday that no one has tried so far to get into the university's computer systems with the laptop. It was stolen Aug. 3 from a storage cabinet.
The university is also offering to pay for two years of credit monitoring for the 10,174 applicants whose personal identification was on the computer. They had applied to attend the regional campus between 2004 and July 30 of this year.
UConn police are investigating and UConn officials said in a statement that they deeply regret the incident.
