Police say Johnathan Ramirez was shooting the rifle in his backyard, and struck a car occupied by four individuals. The pellet broke out the back window.

After an investigation, police determined, Ramirez was in fact firing in the direction of the passing northerly traffic at the time.

The suspect was charged with Reckless Endangerment Second Degree and Criminal Mischief 4th Degree. He was released on an appearance ticket and is expected to appear in court September 9.
