He was killed on September 11th, 2001 as he responded to the attack on the World Trade Center in his role as the chaplain of the fire department.
He was also chaplain of the New York Press Club.
The march began at 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi on West 31st Street and 7th Avenue.
The group stopped at firehouses from that location all the way down to ground zero.
