British doctors studied data on children with treatment-resistant asthma.
The doctors discovered that many of those patients do not have the severe type of the disease.
They were simply improperly using their inhalers, not taking all of their medications, or exposed to tobacco smoke.
Researchers say the study will lead to better treatment for these children.
