Testing shows NY Harbor algae not red tide

A 10-mile stretch of red algae blooms in the New York Harbor is not the dangerous red tide the Coast Guard thought it was.

New Jersey officials tested the water, and the results show there is nothing to fear.

Officials say the reddish-brown algae grows when there's little rain and lots of sun, and that it's not dangerous.

The algae is expected to dissipate soon, and officials say people don't need to stay out of the water because of it.
