He also allegedly used a skimming device to get information from customers' bank cards.
The Westchester district attorney said Monday that 31-year-old Razvan Apostol of Romania had been charged with felony eavesdropping and possession of the skimming device.
He was also charged with possessing eight counterfeit $100 bills.
His lawyer said Apostol denied the charges.
A customer noticed an extra camera above an ATM in Greenburgh.
Prosecutors said the bank's surveillance video was used to identify Apostol and he was arrested at a bank in Rye Brook.
His lawyer said Apostal entered the U.S. on a tourist visa. He was staying in Queens.
