NJ gasoline prices are up

TRENTON, N.J. AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in the Garden State on Friday was $2.50, up a penny from a week ago.

And that's also more than a year ago, when New Jersey motorists were paying $2.48.

Meanwhile, the national average price rose 5 cents to $2.74. That's also higher than the national average from a year ago, which was $2.55.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the rising prices are due in part to the recent shutdown of a leaking oil pipeline near Chicago. The pipeline reopened Friday after being closed for eight days.
