53-year-old Edgardo Sensi pleaded guilty in July to federal charges of engaging in illicit sexual conduct outside the United States and child pornography.
He is to be sentenced on Friday.
Authorities say Sensi, while living in Connecticut, conspired with a woman to coerce an 8-year-old girl to engage in sexually explicit conduct.
In 2004 and 2005, authorities say, Sensi traveled to Nicaragua, where he befriended a maid and persuaded her to give him access to her 4-year-old daughter, with whom he had illicit sexual contact.
Prosecutors said he gave the woman cash, a gold ring and perfume.
