In Hoboken, a last-minute deal will keep five police officers on the job who were set to be laid off.

The officers will now patrol public housing units in the city in an agreement with the Hoboken Housing Authority.

They'll form a new bureau, watching the units during peak crime hours.

The 13 other hoboken police officers are still expected to lose their jobs, a result of deep budget cuts in the city.
