Teacher speaking out about sexy past

BRONX

Melissa Petro seemed totally at ease talking about sex at a free public event on the Lower East Side.

At one point, she oddly says, how having sexual intercourse with her boyfriend reminds her of her job as an art teacher at PS30 in the Bronx.

"It's especially fun in the beginning, you get on with it and then there's the meat of the matter, you get to business and then its over and you do it again," she said.

Earlier this month, the 30-year-old candidly shared more details from her past, as she told The Huffington Post, during a 4 month period beginning in October of 2006, she accepted money in exchange for sexual services. How posting an ad on Craigslist, "provided a simple, familiar forum through which I could do my business with complete anonymity, from the safety and convenience of my own home."

Petro was not at home this afternoon on the Upper East Side but has been reassigned to a district office pending an investigation.

Sarah Bennett, Parent, says "Maybe (my child) he'll see it and he's going to be asking, Mommy who is this, is this my teacher or someone who works in the school, what am I suppose to do," said parent Sarah Bennett.

Petro began working with students in August of 2007, after she pulled her ad from the erotic services section of Craigslist and even though some parents wish Petro would stop being so vocal about her past, they are willing to give her a pass.

"I feel if someone made a mistake in their life and rectified and corrected that, they deserve a chance," adds Barry Thompson.

The DOE is not clear yet where Petro will be re-assigned.
