Firefighter suspended for hit-and-run

The FDNY has suspended Firefighter Patrick Quagliariello for 30 days without pay for his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run.

At Manuel Tzajguachiac's apartment a man told Eyewitness News that he was more than just the victim's roomate, he was his best friend.

Early Sunday morning, the Guatemalan man was hit and killed in New Utrecht.

The driver, allegedly a New York City firefighter didn't bother to stop.

Investigators say the 25-year-old was hit by a dark-colored SUV, at the southeast corner of 65th Street and 20th Avenue.

Manual leaves behind a wife and 1-year-old daughter.
