The grizzly find was made by police when they were called to the house on 86th Avenue in the quiet Hollis Hills section just after 4 a.m.
Both parents were discovered dead inside the house.
88-year-old Phillip Zimmer had been dead for several weeks, and was in an advanced state of decomposition.
84-year-old Lillian Zimmer had apparently died within the last several days.
Their deaths did not appear suspicious, and may have been due to a preexisting medical condition.
Their son, who did not fully comprehend the deaths because of his own medical condition, was taken to a nearby hospital to be checked out.
No charges were expected to be filed against him.
